Ο Σύλλογος Ποντίων Βορείου Έβρου «Ο ΔΙΓΕΝΗΣ» #MacedoniaCenter
Ο Σύλλογος Ποντίων Βορείου Έβρου «Ο ΔΙΓΕΝΗΣ» ιδρύθηκε το 1990, και έχει έδρα την Ορεστιάδα.
Στην περιοχή του Βορειου Έβρου δεν υπάρχει γηγενής ποντιακός πληθυσμός που εγκαταστάθηκε το 1922 στη Ελλάδα, Οι πόντιοι της περιοχής είναι από διάφορα μέρη της Ελλάδας.
Τα μέλη και οι φιλοι του συλλόγου προσπαθούν να διατηρήσουν, μεταδώσουν και να προβάλουν τα ήθη, έθιμα και την ιστορία του Ποντιακού Ελληνισμού, στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Β. Έβρου.
Η Νέα Ορεστιάδα είναι η νεότερη και η βορειότερη πόλη της Ελλάδας. Ιδρύθηκε το 1923 από Έλληνες πρόσφυγες που κατάγονταν από το προάστιο Καραγάτς ή Κάραγατς και την Αδριανούπολη ύστερα από τη συνθήκη της Λωζάνης.
Κυριότερες δράσεις του Συλλόγου :
Οκτώβριο του 2008 διοργάνωσε το 14ο συνέδριο Εθνικής Αυτογνωσίας της Πανελλήνιας Ομοσπονδίας Ποντιακών Σωματίων και του Ιδρύματος Σουμελά, υπό την αιγίδα του Δήμου Ορεστιάδας .
Μάρτιο του 2016 Συμμετοχή σε συνέδριο που διοργάνωσε η Εύξεινο Λέσχη Ευρωπαίων Πολιτών, για την διεθνοποίηση της Γενοκτονίας του Ποντιακού Ελληνισμού στης Βρυξέλες στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβουλίου.
Νοέμβριο του 2016 Συμμετοχή στο 17ο Συνέδριο Εθνικής Αυτογνωσίας της Πανελληνίας Ομοσπονδίας Ποντιακών Σωματείων στο Ηράκλειο της Κρήτης.
Φεβρουάριο του 2017 Υποδοχή της εικόνας της Παναγίας Σουμελά στην Ορεστιάδα.
Μάιο του 2018 Συμμετοχή σε εκδήλωση για την Γενοκτονία των Ελλήνων του Πόντου που διοργάνωσε στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο στις Βρυξέλλες ο Ευρωβουλευτής και μέλος του ECR Καθηγητής Νότης Μαριάς με τη συμμετοχή του Ιδρύματος Παναγία Σουμελά και της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής του Συναπαντήματος της Ποντιακής Νεολαίας.
Την Τετάρτη 2 Οκτωβρίου 2019 ο δήμαρχος κ. Βασίλης Μαυρίδης και ο πρόεδρος του συλλόγου μας κ. Κωνσταντίνος Ν Καλτσίδης, τοποθέτησαν στο κέντρο των θεμελίων του υπό ανέγερση μνημείου για την Γενοκτονία των Ελλήνων του Πόντου, χώμα, αγιασμό και αμάραντα από την Παναγία Σουμελά του Πόντου…!!! Το μνημείο είναι το μοναδικό μέχρι σήμερα, που φέρει στα θεμέλια του, αυτά τα τρία στοιχεία από την αλησμόνητη πατρίδα, επίσης είναι το μοναδικό που απέχει σε ευθεία 5,5 χιλιόμετρα από τα ελληνοτουρκικά σύνορα.
21 Δεκεμβρίου 2019 αποκαλυπτήρια του Μνημείου για τη Γενοκτονία του Ποντιακού Ελληνισμού στη Ορεστιάδα.

To Λαογραφικο και Ιστορικο Μουσείου Φερών
Βασικός πυρήνας του Λαογραφικού και Ιστορικού Μουσείου Φερών αποτελεί η προσωπική συλλογή παραδοσιακών αντικειμένων και ιστορικού υλικού του κ. Νικολάου Γκότση. Πρόσφατα οι ιδιοκτήτες της Λαογραφικής συλλογής Νίκου Γκότση προέβησαν στην αγορά του σπιτιού της οικογένειας Γκουδούλα, με σκοπό να μεταστεγαστεί εκεί. Πρόκειται για διώροφο κτίσμα, εξαιρετικής σημασίας, που χτίστηκε στις αρχές του 1900 και αποτελεί την μοναδική σωζόμενη Ελληνική οικία της Οθωμανικής περιόδου.
Το μουσείο περιλαμβάνει αντικείμενα και έγγραφα από τη ζωή των κατοίκων της περιοχής του Έβρου και των προσφύγων από την Ανατολική Θράκη και τη Μικρά Ασία. Στην Λαογραφική Συλλογή περιλαμβάνονται εργαλεία και αντικείμενα που χρησιμοποιούσαν ο καροποιός, η υφάντρα, ο κουρέας, ο σιδεράς, ο χασάπης, ο τσαγκάρης και ο πεταλωτής. Αντικείμενα και εργαλεία που συνέθεταν την καθημερινότητα στα σπίτια της περιοχής, οι περισσότεροι από τους οποίους ήταν πρόσφυγες από την Ανατολική Θράκη.
Έπιπλα και μαγειρικά σκεύη, σίδερα, νερόμυλοι, πέτρινα γουδιά, αλλά και μια τεράστια συλλογή κουδουνιών, βρίσκονται ανάμεσα στα εκθέματα. Σε ειδικές προθήκες ο επισκέπτης θαυμάζει αντικείμενα από την Ίμβρο, ενώ ιδιαιτερα εντυπωσιακες ειναι οι πολύχρωμες, παραδοσιακές γυναικείες φορεσιές των χωριών της περιοχής. Τα έπιπλα και σκεύη του παλιού νοικοκυριού, έχουν μια νότα νοσταλγίας. Διάφορα μαγειρικά σκεύη, κασέλες, σκαμνιά, σίδερα, σάτσια για λαγκίτες, νερόμυλοι σε μεγάλη ποικιλία, πέτρινα γουδιά, κουπιά, σαμάρια και σέλλες.
Οντας από τις Φέρες ο Νίκος Γκότσης, εντόπισε και συνέλεξε περισσότερα από 1.900 αντικείμενα από την καθημερινή ζωή των κατοίκων της περιοχής περασμένων εποχών. Από το 1996 η Λαογραφική Συλλογή Νίκου Γκότση εκτίθεται στις Φέρες και έχει δημόσιο χαρακτήρα. Είναι ένας συλλεκτικός πλούτος από αντικείμενα και φωτογραφικα/γραπτά στοιχεία που αφορούν την μέχρι πριν λίγα χρόνια ζωή των κατοίκων του Έβρου και των προσφύγων από την Ανατολική Θράκη.

Ο πολιτιστικος λαογραφικος συλλογος Διδυμοτειχου “Το Καστρο” εκθετει στο πρωην δημοτικο σχολειο Κουφοβουνου λαογραφικο υλικο των κατοικων του χωριου. Ταυτοχρονα στον ιδιο χωρο φιλοξενειται η συλλογη του Γ. Τοπαλιδη με παραδοσιακες ενδυμασιες της Θρακης.
